I adore this editorial for the June issue of French Vogue by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. The shoot was inspired by photos of Madonna on the street in the eighties. If you compare this spread to pictures of Madonna from 1982 and 1983 you will have to admit that model Sasha Pivovarova is a pretty convincing Madonna here.
In tomboyish looks by Dries Van Noten, Marc Jacobs and Comme des Garcons—with plenty of polka dots, headscarves and attitude thrown in for good measure—the two are almost indistinguishable. Love it!
