Knee High Stocking Co.

This weekend I discovered Knee High Stocking Co., a prohibition-themed speakeasy type of place, hidden inside a triangle-shaped house in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. There is no sign out front, just a doorbell with the bar's name in tiny letters next to it. Of course a closed door made me want to enter even more, so without hesitation we pressed the bell and were let in by Greg, our bartender for the evening.

Inside the small and cozy bar, our cocktails were tailor made based on our dislikes, only to prove that in the right concoction there is no such thing as a dislike. I for instance told our skilled bartender I would prefer a vodka or tequila based refreshment, only to devour a rum and gin cocktail minutes later. All four of us were converts by the the end of the evening, having sampled and loved skillfully mixed cocktails we would have otherwise never ordered. This lead me to believe that the eleventh commandment should be: 'Trust thy bartender'.

After a few rounds of drinks and dice we also decided to sample the lamb mini-burgers and house-marinated olives, which in all their flavorful deliciousness, and accompanied by fabulous cocktails made the Knee High Stocking Co. my new favorite place in Seattle.

Please don't go check it out, because I would like to keep it all to myself. But if you do insist on going, please make sure you study their house rules first.
