Advanced Style

Wether you are freaking out about getting older or impatiently waiting for some distinguished silver hairs around your temples, there is hope for those of us that are concerned that sense of style fades with age.

Street style blog Advanced Style highlights the possibility of being cool and stylish well into your nineties. Blog creator Ari Cohen says: "We have started a blog that documents street style and fashion of the mature and wizened. Our aim is to take photos of elders with a unique sense of personal style that has developed with age. We noticed so many amazingly dressed older people in New York and are having a great time getting to know them, hearing their stories and capturing a bit of their style to share with others."
Aren't these outfits amazing? I want to be like these ladies when I grow old!

Sasquatch Street Style

Since I moved to Seattle back in February, it hasn't been easy spotting fashion conscious Washingtonians. In general I've been seeing a lot of plaid, copious amounts of nylon windbreakers, barely any high heels, and way too many layers to even figure out what's going on underneath all that protection from rain and cold.

Maybe I have been going to the wrong places... Or maybe they only come out at festivals like Sasquatch, Washington's own less exposed, less commercial, and less VIP version of Coachella. This year, the three-day concert attracted bands from Wilco and the Flaming Lips to Sleigh Bells and Yeasayer, and, naturally, thousands of their stylish fans. Below you can check out some of the crowd in their favorite festival outfits.

He Who Seeks Beauty Shall Find It

I know I wrote about it before, but I finally saw Bill Cunningham, New York and want to tell you about it again. Because if you haven't done so yet, you should definitely go see it right away.

This captivating and moving documentary about Bill's humble life as the original and most beloved street style photographer and his passion for fashion and beauty is enormously inspiring. His eye for esthetics and gift of sharing what he sees with the rest of the world, combined with highly evolved personal ethics, make Bill a unique human being.

This man on his Schwinn, capturing the decades of fashion in his relentless pursuit of beauty is endearing, funny, and most of all a genius.

Go see it now!
