The story of United Nude begins with a broken heart. Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas attempted to win his lover back by downsizing architecture to its smallest and most vulnerable scale, that of a woman's foot. While most romantic notions are often foolish, what was hatched through the inspiration of romance was the 'Möbius' shoe. The girl was gone, but he knew the shoe had to become real. 


Now, I've always loved United Nude for being daring and different, and for this reason I also fell for the United Nude x Iris van Herpen collaboration.


We're talking about some glamorous Gaga meets McQueen-esque ankle booties with smooth round lines.  The intricate three-dimensional detailing is so complicated and precise that each pair is 100% hand-made with yummy Italian leather.
