  1. That's a line derived from Baudelaire, which in turn shows up somewhere in the New York Trilogy of Paul Auster (or maybe it was Brooklyn Follies, I don't remember).

  2. That's a cool fact, thanks for letting me know! I did in fact read New York Trilogy as well as Brooklyn Follies and thoroughly enjoyed both (even though Moon Palace is my favorite). No wonder this resonated!
